In this episode, we meet Saint Mary's specialist midwives. These midwives help mums and dads through pregnancies that are high-risk, endangering the baby or putting the mothers health under threat. Squeezed into a small office, between them these midwives see over 1000 women every year. We follow Miranda, a midwife from the recurrent miscarriage clinic, as she tries to help an incredibly anxious patient through a pregnancy she's waited years for. At the next desk in the office is Gretta, the diabetes midwife. She is struggling to get a troublesome teen mum, at risk of stillbirth, to come into hospital. Claire, the midwife for women with serious health problems, is faced with a problem pregnancy like she's never seen before - 34-year-old Kelly has a transplanted kidney. She is putting her own life at risk by getting pregnant and the team have to work out how to treat her and save the pregnancy.
