Hanna Polak has directed, produced, and shot several films that have won international awards including the Oscar-nominated, IDA-winner, two times Emmy nominated THE CHILDREN OF LENINGRADSKY. RAILWAY STATION BALLAD, which she produced, won her the Best Producer Award in Krakow, Grand Prix, (FIPA D’OR) and Prix du Jury des Jeunes Europeens in Biarritz, France, Best of Show and Audience Award in Volda, Norway. In 2006, Polak's photography works won her third prize in the UNICEF International Photography Competition: Photo of the Year. For her cinematography work for STONE SILENCE, shot in Afghanistan, she was awarded with “Artistic Mastery of Photographing” award from the Kiev FF. For her charitable efforts, Polak was awarded the prestigious Golden Heart Award, the “Award for serving the uppermost ideals of mankind”, received in the presence of Sophia Loren and Jessica Lange and millions of viewers on Russian NTV Television. She founded her production company Hanna Polak Films. Her latest documentary is SOMETHING BETTER TO COME.
